City Engineer Jain recommended that approximately 3,000 feet <br /> � -of creek banks be sprayed undsr the current Weed Abatement program at an estimated cost of <br /> �"' �300.00 to serve as a trial operation to determine its effectiveness and establish a guide <br /> for future budgeting. Councilman Granger moved approval, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br /> and carried. - <br /> �- R. DELL'ERGO REPRESENTING S. PELLARIN APPEAL ON SIDEWALK REPAIR NOTICE. Mr. De11�Ergo stated <br /> � that his client ha,d no ob3ection to necessary sidewalk repairs but did ob�ect to the <br /> tearing out of a blind driveway which was a good piece of concrete. Mr. Jain called atter�- <br /> tion to the sidewalk ordinance which covers abandoned driveways. 11�rr. Jain sta�e� that <br /> his department is endeavoring to clean up this situation as fast as possible and restore <br /> curbs and parking space. In Mr. Jaints opinion all indfviduals should be treated alike. <br /> Councilman Britschgi stated he had looked at the situation and he was inclined to agree <br /> with I�r. Jain in his opinion that the abandoned driveRa� should be replaced by sidewalk <br /> and curbs. �However, in order that the balance of the Council might be given an opportun- <br /> ity-to look over the sidewalk, Councilman Gr�nger moved that the matter be carried over <br /> to the Council meeting of December 20th, seconded by �ouncilman Spillers. City Engineer <br /> requested the Council to establish a policy for his departrnent to follow in attempting <br /> � <br /> to carry out the provisions of the ordinanee. Councilman Royer suggested that Mr. Dell �- <br /> Ergo, his client and the City Engineer get to gether and attempt to work out a satisfactory <br /> � <br /> agreement. Motion carried on roll call, Councilman Jones voting N0. <br /> PERSONAL APPEARANCE - MR. SOLOMON HENDRIX, 3?06 BAYSHORE xIGIi1NAY. Mr. Hendrix had rented a <br /> small restaurant building at the above address and had applied for a license to ope�ate. <br /> The usual inspection had not been completed and due to the fact that hia rent had com- <br /> menced and he would not bs able to operate for two-weeks if he were forced to �rait until <br /> the next Council meeting, he requested the City Council to approve his license sub�ect <br /> to the approval of the Fire, Palice, Building and Health Departments. Councilman Royer <br /> noting this was a norma.l restaur.e.nt application which did not involve building or altera- <br /> tions, moved approval, sub�ect to the usual departmental inspections, seconded by Council- <br /> man Spillers and carried. <br /> CITY MANAGER RE: EMPLOYN�ATT OF FROST AND BRIAN TO PREPARE PLAN3 AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CANYON <br /> � ROAD SEWERS. City Manager recommended that he be authorized to complete negotiations with <br /> '� Frost and Brian in accordance with terms and conditions as follows: <br /> _ 1. Prepare plans and specifications, and contract documents complete to <br /> the satisfaction of the City Engineering Department for the rates set <br /> forth in �Ghe standard schedule adopted for civil engineering work in <br /> this area, in the following percentages based upon the actual contract <br /> �,�., cost, but not includin g extra work authorized during constructions <br /> � ?� - up to �10,000 <br /> 6� - - �10,000 to 50,000 <br /> �.�� - �50,000 to �100,000 <br /> - all over �100,000 <br /> 2.
