2�6 <br /> EL CAMINO REAL, FORMERLY SUDDEN LUMBER COMPANY. REFER TO PLANNING COMMISSION. I�r. <br /> Philip L. Segal representing the Bay Bridgs Sales Company addressed the Council stating <br /> that generally they wished to handle building materials, light haxdware, electrical <br /> supplies, etc., and that there would be some surplus government materials which might be <br /> classified as second-hand. City Attornay Currie advised that if there was some doubt, <br /> Mr. Segal could apply to the Planning Comm3.ssion for a use permit. Councilman Stout then ""'"� <br /> moved the ma.tter be referred to the Planning Commission. There was no second to this mo- r✓ <br /> tion. �. Segal referred to his store operating at 333 �'ket Street in San Francisco and <br /> suggested that anyone mi�t inspect these premises and the goods which he was handling <br /> there. CouncilmRn Royer suggested that �r. Segal for a use permit and permission to sell ,,,,,,,,� <br /> used goods and that the matter be dropped from the Council Agenda. Councilman Granger, �; <br /> however, was of the opinion that someone should take a look at the San Francisco outlet <br /> and if his merchandise equaled that of othe� salnage stores in this area he should be given <br /> a permit to operate. After further discussion Councilman Royer moved that the ma.tter be <br /> dropped from the Council Agenda and that �r. Segal apply to the Planning Commission for a <br /> use permit, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. Building Inspector Kreiss suggested <br /> that the applicant check vrith him regarding certain conditions of the building which should <br /> be looked in to before closing the deal. <br /> FUR7HER DISCUSSION R. DELL�ERGO FOR S. PELLARIN RE: BROKEN SIDEiNALK. This matter was held over <br /> from the December 6th meeting to allow the members of the Council to inspect the sidewalk <br /> in question, City Engineer stated that his notice to repair was exactly in line with the <br /> ordinance and Councilman Royer then moved that the ownar, Mr. Sante Pell�rin, be required <br /> � <br /> to repair the sidewalks as covered in City En�ineer Jaints original notice. Motion sec- <br /> ,��� <br /> onded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> RESOLUTION 1809 PORT BOND ELECTION, THE TITLE OF WHICH IS: RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT 'IfiE <br /> PUBLIS INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY 'I'HE <br /> CITY OF RED�lIIi00D CITY OF THE FOLLOWING 1VIUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: PORT IMPROVEMENTS; <br /> AND �IAT THE COST OF SAID MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT WILL REQUIRE AN EXPENDITIIRE GREATER ZfiAN <br /> �iE AMOUNT ALLOV�ED THEREFOR BY THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY. A letter from the Port Commission <br /> was read and a map showing the proposed improvement was filed with the City Clerk. Re- <br /> solution was read and after a full discussion and consideration Councilman Royer offered <br /> resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout. City Attorney advisad that <br /> the Port will stand the initial expense of the Special Bond election. Motion carried un- <br /> animously on roll call, Councilmen Britschgi and Spillers noted absent. <br /> RESOLUTION 1810 W ITHDRA�ff SEVERAL ANNEXED TERRITORIES FROM EMERALD LAKE LIGHTING DISTRICT, was '""'�" <br /> offered by Councilman Granger who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried un- ,.,� <br /> animously on roll call, Councilmen Britschgi and Spillers noted absent. <br /> INTRODUCE ORDINANCE TWO-HOUR PARKIPtG WHIPPLE, STAFFORD TO ARGUELLO AND RESTRICTED PARKING MAIN <br /> STREET BETW'EEN BIICKEYE AND SPRUCE. Couneilman Jones moved introduction, seeonded by Coun- ,,,� <br /> cilman Royer and carried. <br /> � <br /> INTRODUCE ORDIPtANCE ANIEND StTBDIVISION ORDINANCE RE: FIRE-ALARM SYSTEMS. The Planning Commission <br /> has approved the proposed amendment adding the requirement of developer to install the <br /> Fire Alarm system in subdivisions. Fire Chief Lodi stated that in his opinion installa- <br /> tion of Fire Alarm system should be done by the subdivider rather than at public expense. <br /> Councilman Royer moved introduction of ordinance, aeconded by Councilma,n Stout.
