The Recreation Commissioners were of the opinion that this being a commercial <br /> venture the matter should not coms under their 3urisdiction. ' Motion seconded b� Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON THE ARATTER OF EXCESSIVE SPEED OF 1V�TORIST ON ROOSEVELT AVENUE <br /> AT EL CAMINO REAL. The Police Department will watch this situation. � <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER DISCUSSED THE POSSIBILITY OF USING LOADING ZONES AFTER 5:00 P. M. and Sun- <br /> � <br /> days and Holidays thus providing considerable parking space. Councilman Granger then <br /> moved that the matter be referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Commi.ttee, seconded by <br /> Councilman Royer and carried. � <br /> COUATCILMAN GRANGER COIVILM'ENTED ON THE APPEARANCE OF THE DOORS AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE CITY HALL. <br /> City Ma.nager was requested to secure estimates of the cost of replacing the present doors <br /> with more modern and better appearing doors. Agenda January 3rd. Estimatea to include <br /> the Police Department doors as well. <br /> LETTER FROM THE PLANNING COMNtISSION REGARDING THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY�S PROPOSAL TO <br /> EXTEND FRANKLIN STREET WAS REFERRED TO THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE on motion of Councilman <br /> Royer, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> 12 TON FLAT-BED TRUCK FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT (CQN TINUED) . &1r. Al Davies appeared before the Coun- <br /> � <br /> cil in defense of his bid as submitted for the purchase of 12 ton flat bed truck. The <br /> minimum specifications were prepared in an effort to make it possible for all local deal- "°�"'' <br /> ers to bid. However, it being apparent that errora had crept in and the fact that both <br /> the Fira Chief and City Manager had recommended rejection of all bids and readvertising. <br /> Councilman Jones moved that the above recommendation be approved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Royer. After further discussion, regarding the size of the tires, width, and length of <br /> truck bed, etc. ,roll was called. Motion carried, Councilman Stout and Mayor Herkner <br /> votin� N0. <br /> PLANNING COM�IISSION RECOMMENDS APPRQVAL E. H. STRAIM'TFIER APPLICATION TO RESUBDIVIDE PORTION <br /> OF LOT 13, BLOCK E, WOODS IDE ACRES N0. 1. (RE1�ITFIELD NEAR WOC}DS IDE ROAD) .
