Police Chief �liood stated � <br /> that this would be agreeable if t he City could afford to enter int� the program. He <br /> stated his dep artment was attempting to conserve ammunition and keep the expenses <br /> down so that periodical practice coulc be accomplished by his department. In his <br /> opinion we could not even compete withthe County teams. Redwood City Police Depart- <br /> ment has their own loading facilities and will have 8,Q00 rounds at the completion <br /> of the program� Chief 1�Tood estimated that 50 rounds per each man would cost �80 to <br /> �100 per month. After further discusaion as to whether the City should finance this <br /> program Councilman Herkner suggested that �100 per month be furnished for six months. <br /> After more discussion it �ras decided to change this to �100 per month for three months <br /> and the ma.tter to be considered further at that time in connection with the budget. <br /> Councilman Herkner so moved, seconded by Councilman Royer. Then followed discussion <br /> �regarding the present range which was not entirely satisfactory due to the fact that � <br /> the area was not fenced. Councilwoman Tinney suggested that the matter be held up <br /> for one week to allow the Chief to study and bring back a recormnendation. Council- <br /> woman Tiruzey offered an amendment to the motion to the effect that the matter be held <br /> up for one week, February lst, to allow Chief Wood to bring back a recommendation as <br /> to" the sufficisnt amount needed to carry out the pistol range program, seconded by <br /> Councilman Spillers. Motion carried. <br /> MAYOR GRANGER REQUESTED THAT THE TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE check into the possibility <br /> of divided highway in the Five Points area from the Five Points intersection to Hazel <br /> Street in an effort to stop autos from turning in this area. <br /> RECREATION COMMISSION CHAIRMAN H. S. STOtTT AGAIN REQUESTED THAT THE CQIINCIL RECREATION COM- <br /> MITTEE attend the Park and Recreation Commission meeting of February 3rd, Wednesday, <br /> to discuss the Hetch Hetchy matter at length. � <br /> COUNCILMAN JONES MOVED ADJOIIRNMENT, seconded .by Councilman Spillers and carried.
