��� <br /> CITY ENGINEER RECON�rENDED ACCEPTANCE OF REPAVING BROADWAY TRACKS TO EL CAMINO REAL. City <br /> Engineer Jain recommended acceptance of Gas Tax Project Na. 46, subject to the <br /> following conditions : <br /> l. Correction of any defects in materi.als and workmanship which might <br /> appear within one year. <br /> 2. Payment of all. accounts owed to the City of Redwood City by the <br /> contractor, Frank UJ. Smith, Incor�orated. '"'� <br /> Councilman Herkner moved approval. of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Royer. <br /> � <br /> City Attorney Currie reported on the situation whereby the contract was awarded t o and <br /> signed by Frank W. Smith. The work was done by L. C. Smith� however, inasmuch as the <br /> agreement was with Frank W. Smith� negotiations will be concluded with the latter. <br /> There is a sum of money due the City from Mr. Frank W. Smith which wi11 be deducted <br /> from the above mentioned project. City Engineer Jain requested that the City Council <br /> authorize the withholding of the sum owing to the City, however� it was decided that <br /> the motion approving City Engineers recommendation would cover inasmuch as the second <br /> condition for acceptance of the job was subject to the payment of all accounts owed to <br /> the City by Mr. Frank W. Smith. Motion carried. <br /> CIZ'Y ENGINEER'� RECOMMENDATION FOR ACCEFTANCE OF REPAVING JEFFERSON AVENUE FROM EL CAMINO <br /> REAL TO ADAMS STREET. City Engineer Jain recommended acceptance of Gas Tax Project <br /> No. 48 subject to correction of any defects in materials and workmanship which might <br /> appear in one year. Councilman Jones moved approval of recommendation, seconc?ed by <br /> Councilman Herkner and carried. Mayor Granger expressed his hope that this job would <br /> stand ug and would not have to be repaved within two or three years . City Engineer <br /> Jain was questioned as to the policy of repaving the areas where the base was considered <br /> poor. City Engineer explained that due to wet subbase conditions, a tota.l of 10" of <br /> rock had been installed� covered with 4" of paving. In his o�inion this was the only <br /> method by which the situation cculd be handled. <br /> CHIEF WOOD REPOR.TED THAT THE LI�UOR LICEI�TSE OF 1'HE IMPROVED BENEVCLENT PROTECTIVE ORDER OF <br /> TNE ELK� OF THE WORLD had been revoked by the State Board of Equalization anG had been <br /> taken into possession by the Liquor Control Administrator. <br /> FLANNING CO MMISSION RECOMMENDATION REGARDING REZONE AREA ON J�T�`��ES AVENUE, CALIFORNIA STREET, <br /> AND WINKLEBLECK STREET FRCN1 C-2 to C-2-H. The Planning Commission recommended approval <br /> of the initiative of the planning commission to rezone the above area from C-2 to C-2-H, <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved that public hearing be held on February 23rd, seconded by <br /> Councilwoman Tinney and carried. <br /> PLANP�ING CCMMISSIGN RECOMr�ENDATION TO APf:END ZONITTG ORDINANCE No .600, BUII�ING SITE AREA <br /> REQUIREMENTS . The Planning Commission recommended changing Ordinance No . 600� Section <br /> 8.1 and 9.1 establishing minimum square feet and width of building sites . Councilman <br /> Jones moved amended ordinance be prepared by the City Attorney for further consideration <br /> of the Council� seconded by Councilman Royer. Motion carried. � <br /> PLANNING COMP�I�SION RECOMMENDATION TO REZONE FROM C-1 to C-1-H, 200 FEET FRCNTING EL CAMINO � <br /> REAL BEGINNING EAST BOUIVDARY REDWOOD VILLA PARK. The Planning Commission recommende <br /> approval of the petition of David Boicelli and the initiative of the Planning Commission <br /> to rezone the area fronting on the southerly side of E1 Camino Real beginning at the <br /> easterly boundary of Redwood Villa Park and ending at the soiztheasterly City limits <br /> for a depth of 200 feet. Councilman Britschgi moved public hearing be held on February <br /> 23rd, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney and carried. <br />
