 ,

questioned the tirre necessary to run the survey establish lines and cross sections
in the time remaining. The Engineering Department will attempt to get this in shape
by Monday evening .
Mr. Robert Beshore appeared to comment on the overall park situation it being his
opinion that this discussion reflects the people' s thinking . Councilrrian Jones stated
that even though everyone was in accord with the plan it was very possible that ex-

penditures could not be made out of this year ' s budget. Councilman Spillers thought
.r
the matter could be decided right now, that everyone had had enough time to reach a
decision based on the figures that were presented.
The original motion made by Councilman Jones to set aside the decision to allow time
for a study meeting was restated, Councilman Herkner asking that the motion include "
;!
the cost of grading. This was agreeable to the maker of the motion and the second. "'
Motion carried.
Councilman Britschgi then moved that the City Manager contact Mr. George Davis , San
Francisco Water Superintendent, and arrange to immediately clean up the right-of-way
to eliminate menace and health hazard? seconded by Councilman Royer. Councilman
Spillers thought we were a little unreasonable in demanding that this work be done
immediately, it being his thought that we might be antagonizing the San Francisco
Water Comany people. He suggested getting the power grader on the job to •find out
what could be done, suggesting further that employees of the Engineering ancl Parks
Departrent along with Mr. Davis , go over the situation and attempt to form under-
standing. Mr. Tornell stated that in his opinion that there was no health menace at
this time of year and he favored asking he water comxany officials to discuss the ,,,
matter furtr.er. Councilman Britschgi restated the motion to the effect that the
City Manager contact Mr. George Davis in an attempt to clarify and steps tc be taken
to abate weeds , motion seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.
RECESS at 10:45 P. Ps. Re-convened at 10:55 P• r•
H. W. WATERHOUE' REQUEST FOR ADITIONAL SEWER CONNECTION AT 101 ACACIA LANE. Mr. taterhouse
requested permission to connect with City sewer line in Acacia Lane area. Mr. Water-
house explained that his property was in the extreme end of Acacia Lane and that he
desired to build on the property but could not receive a building permit frcm the
County unless sewer connection was available. It developed that Mr. Waterhouse already
had one connection to the sewer line and also that he was wil7ing to sign a statement
to the effect that he would not oppose annexation should such be undertaken.
Councilman Britschgi moved that the connecticn be allowed, seconded by Councilman
Spillers and carried. This area being outside the City I:imits there was some discus- .,
.r
sion as to what action should be taken to allow Mr. Waterhouse to tie into the
Acacia Lane line, however, he was advised to contact the Engineering Departrnent who
would discuss the matter further with him.
PARKS ANL RECREATICN CONIISION REGARUING IMPROVING CITY QWNED AREA ADJACENT TO FIREHOUSE '
No . 3 .
