Councilman Spillers voted No. <br /> Mr. Warrenhousen protested� stating th.at he had purchased his home at 3114 Jefferson <br /> ,� Avenue as a residential area but was alarmed at the prospect of the area becoming con- <br /> �... <br /> verted into a business area. Councilman Herkner was of the opinion that cards should be <br /> mailed to owners of the surrounding property. Councilman Spillers stated that he under- <br /> stood a petition was being prepared protesting the rezoning. City Attorney� Currie stated <br /> that the necessary ordinance could be prepared and the public hearing held at the time <br /> r---- <br /> adoption was considered . Councilman Herkner then moved that the property within the 300 <br /> �. _� <br /> feet radius be notified by post card , seconded by Councilman Spillers . Councilman <br /> Royer was of the opinion that the zoning ordinance should be amended so that in al1 <br /> rezoning actions property owners be notified by post card. Councilman Herkner withdrew <br /> his original motion with the consent of the second and Councilman Royer moved that the <br /> City Attorney prepare an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance making it mandatory that <br /> notices be furnished to property owners interested in rezoning. Motion seconded by <br /> Councilwoman Tinney and carried, matter of rezoning the additional property facing Jeffer- <br /> son Avenue to be referred to the Planning Commission for further consideration. <br /> FUFcZ'HER DISCUSSION, IMPROVEMENT OF HETCH HETCHY RIGHT-OF-WAY. The members of the City Council <br /> went into the field and checked the right-of-way which is proposed to convert into a park. <br /> As a result of this visit it was the consenus of opinion that the portion of the right- <br /> ��` of-way from Carson Street 300 feet northwesterly could be improved in the nature of an <br /> � - experiment with the understanding plans could be continued when funds become avail.able. <br /> The entire project is too large a program to be undertaken at one time . <br /> The following estimate to improve the 300 feet was submitted b,y the Engineering Department. <br /> Grading - 24�000 Sq.
