It developed that several cars were parked in <br /> � <br /> this area for extended periods of time and there did not appear to be any le�al method <br /> � <br /> by which these cars could be towed away. Captain F'aulstich was of the opinion that we <br /> might have some jurisdiction after the new ordinance becomes effectiye. After further <br /> discu.ssion, City Engineer Jain was directed to mak_e whatever repairs possible by <br /> du�ping red rock in an attempt to eliminate the bad holes existing . �' <br /> COUNCILh1AN HERKNER CALLED ATTENTIC-N TO THE FII�TATdCIAL REFORT indicating that after six months �� <br /> of operation the CityT had lived within their budget and somewhat belcw the budget <br /> appropriation. He was of the opinion the economy minded citizens should be informed <br /> and that the heads of departments and the City Nlanager should be congratulated for their <br /> excellent record. <br /> SEA SCOUT CREW No. 162 REQUFST PERNISSION TO FAINT HQUSE Nt7MBERS . Councilman Britschgi <br /> moved that the City Engineer work out size of number and quality of paint, then Crew 162 <br /> to be so informed, motion seconded by Councilman Royer and carried . <br /> WILLIAMS. & COI�PANY REQUEST ANNEXATICN AND COIv'NECTIC�N TC CITY WATER LINF. Mr. Williams was <br /> present ana requested an expression of the Council as to the possibility of securing water <br /> connections for s�rinkler system. This information was necessary so that Mr. Williams <br /> could continue negotiations for a lease with Wells Lamont Corporation of Chicago . It „�.,, <br /> being necessary for the Planning Commission to act on this request� tr,e matter was <br /> � ,� <br /> referred to the Commission at their meeting downstairs for report back later in the <br /> evening. City Attorney Currie stated that it would be proper to enter into some agree- <br /> ment with Mr. Williams which would make it possible for him to receive a water connection <br /> subject tc his agreement to become annexed. Mr. Williams assured the Council that he was <br /> acting in good faith, again stating that he would like to have an answer tcnight. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved that Mr. Wil7.iams be informed that the City look favorably <br /> upon the proposed water connection� seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. Water <br /> Superintendent Winter called attention to the policy whereby installation of service will <br /> be at the property owners expense . In response to A1r. Williams querry as to any likeli- <br /> hood of change of zoning after annexation� he was informed by the City Attorney that the <br /> present use was not conforming but that the property would come in zoned as is at present. <br /> � <br /> FIRE CHIEF LODI REPORTID ON EMPTY LOTS . Fire Chief stated that if rubbish can be removed <br /> . ,� <br /> and lot disked while the ground is still moist a better and cleaner job will be realized. <br /> Chief Lodi recommended that owners of l.ots with rubbish be notified by card or letter <br /> giving them a designated time to clean up the lot� failure to do so resulting in the <br /> City arranging to have someone to clean the lot a.nd bill the owners . Chief Lodi offered � <br /> the service of his department in mailing notifications and centacting �roperty owners �' <br /> concerned. Councilman Britschgi moved approval of Chief Lodi ' s recommendation, seconded <br /> by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> FIRE CHIEF LODI PROPOSES E�TABLISHING FIRF ZONE IF AND WHEN CORNER OF ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS <br /> AND JEFFERSON AVENUE IS REZGNED. City Attorney Currie advised that it woul.d b e proper <br /> at this time to introduce ordinance establishing fire zone No. 2 for all the property <br />
