Letter filed. <br /> �^ <br /> SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY REGARDING BLOCKED BROADWAY CROSSING. Communication received from <br /> � <br /> Superintendent Jordan promising action at once. Councilman Britschgi advised that con- <br /> dition has already been corrected. City Clerk was directed to reply to Mr. Jordan' s <br /> letter expressing the Council' s appreciation. <br /> � C. C. ASHLEY REGARVING EP�:ERGENCY WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM. Councilman Spillers moved that letter <br /> � be referred to proper authorities for study, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Letter <br /> was also referred to the Tribune. Motion carried. <br /> LETTER RECEIVED FRGN PARK AND RECREATION COT'��,ISSION recommending that Yacht Harbor program <br /> be underway as soon as possible. The Council Committee has already recommended the <br /> purchase of the property. <br /> CITY AUDITOR BROPHY WAS AUTHORIZED TO CORRECT 1G53-54 Tax Rol] , adding ;�8.'74 to cover Arb <br /> Blk 173, Lot 1-C on motion of Councilman Royer, seconded b<< Councilman Herkner and carried. <br /> LETZ'ER FROM JUNIOR CHANBER OF COh"MERCE REQUESTING PERMISSION to conduct an Easter Egg Hunt <br /> on Sunday� April llth at 2 P. M. at the Community Park was read by the City Clerk. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved permission be granted, secondedl� Councilman Herkner and carried . <br /> MAYOR GRANGER SUGGESTED FURTHER CONSIDERATION OF THE QUESTION ON PAINTING ELECTRGLIERS . He <br /> � would like to secure sealed bids and get ccst of painting in lots of 25, 50, and 100 or <br /> � over . The painters feel that they can do a better job than the City employees and it <br /> might be good business to give the matter a test. After further discussion Councilman <br /> Herkner moved the matter be taken up at a study meeting � City Manager and City Engineer <br /> to be present, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> MAYOR GRANGER CALLED ATTENTION TO ARTICLE APFEARING IN THE TRIBUNE in which it appeared that <br /> a former City Councilman had appeared before the Senate Committee in Washingtcn to object <br /> ta the item in the Federal bidget to cover cost of dredging and improving the creek <br /> channels in the vicinity of the Port of Redwood City. Mayor Granger considered this to <br /> be an unfair attack upon the City. Councilman Spillers was of the opinion that the <br /> former Councilman was working for a special San Francisco group. Councilman Royer was <br /> in agreement with the sentiments expressed above but stated that there was nothing that <br /> could be done that the former Councilman legally had the right to appear before the <br /> � <br /> Senate Committee as a Citizen. <br /> �rrr <br /> MAYOR GRANGER SUGGESTED THE POSSIBILITY OF CHECKING into the offer of Gar V'dood Industries, Inc. <br /> to furnish a 15 minute film "The Modern V4ay to a Clean Community" . The City Engineer <br /> stated that he had seen the film which showed a Gar Wood load packer, a van handling <br /> � garbage and rubbish. <br /> �""' CITY ATT�RNEY CURRIE REFORTED that the Planning Commission had acted favorably on the Williams <br /> request for annexation.
