This communication was referred to the proper <br /> department heads. <br /> � <br /> MR. DON BOGIE, VICE PRINCIPAL, SEQUOIA HIGH SCHQOL, regarding dog nuisance at school. The <br /> City Manager stated that he had referred this communication to the Gounty Manager but had <br /> � <br /> not received a reply as yet. City Manager Rolison will follow this up. <br /> Mr. James Gleeson, 26!}2 Carolina Avenue, addre�sed the Council regarding dogs calling <br /> attention to the ad�oining City of San Ca.rlos, which is operating under a leash ordi- <br /> � nance. After further discussion, Councilman Britschgi moved that the matter be referred <br /> ``""" to the Council Animal and Fov�l Ordinance Committee for atudy and reeommendation. The <br /> Co�3.ttee �as referred to the San Carlos and Menlo Park Ordinances. Motion �vas seconded <br /> by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> MR. A�ATT LEHMANtS REQUEST FOR ADDITIQNAL FEE FOR FIRE STATION No. l. Chief Lodi advised that <br /> Mr. Lehman had submitted a atatement for �1,000 for additional services beyong the <br /> original contract. In his opinion a fair figure for the work involv�d would be �750. <br /> During the revision in �the heating system at the time the contract t�ith the (�eneral Con- <br /> traetor was signed, Mr. Lehman neglected to include the portion of the circulating unit <br /> of the heating syatem. A bid f'rom the plum.bing contractor of �50!} for the items needed <br /> to correct the heating system has been received �and Mr. Lehman has agreed to pay this <br /> cost to plaee the system in a �aod and satlsfactory �rorking condition. Chief Lodi then <br /> �- recommended that Mr. Lehman be paid the �750 with the understanding that he assume the <br /> � responsibility of correeting the heating system, �hich recommendation was concurred in <br /> by the City Manager, the payment to be made from the 1951 Bond Funds for the Fire Depart- <br /> ment Improvements. Councilman Spillers moved approval of recommendation, seconded b� <br /> Councilwoman Tinney and carried. <br /> REDtI�00D INDUSTRIAL TRACT No. 2. City Engineer Jain recommended aceeptance of improvements <br /> sub�ect to the follo�ing conditions: <br /> 1. Shaping and guniting the storm drainage pumping system outlet channel as shown <br /> on the plans and apecifications. <br /> 2. Payment in full of all accounts owing the City of Redwood City by the Land <br /> Development and Investment Company. <br /> 3. Guarantee by the aubdivider to replaee or correct all defecta in materials and <br /> workmanship which may occur within one year from date of acceptance. <br /> City Engineer recommended further that the Land Development and Investment Company be <br /> �"^ permitted to post a Perforxnance Bond in the amount of �3,000 to guarantee the completion <br /> �,,,,,,,, of the shaping and guniting of the channel mentioned in Item �1 above such work to be <br /> completed before June 1, 1954. The Performance Bond now on deposit with the City should <br /> not be released until th� above conditions have been satisfactorily completed. City <br /> �„ Attorney stated the bond in its present condition in his opinion was not satisfactory, <br /> however, Councilman Spillers moved approv�.l of City Engineer'a recommendation subject <br /> �,,� <br /> to bond satisfactory to the City Attorney, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> SIDEWALKS - BROADWAY, MAIN TO C�3ESTIdUT STREETS. The City Engineer advised that he had re- <br /> ceived approvals for only 275 ft. of frontage, the remaining 1'j60 ft. of frontage did <br /> not reply, except Land Development Compang, who protested the pro�ect. Land Development <br /> Company apparently still own 800 ft. or approximately 40� of the total. Mayor Granger <br /> was still of tlze opinion that sidewalks should be completed on this, the principal stre�t <br />
