The City and <br /> County of San Francisco had forwarded a revocable agreement �rhich would result in giving <br /> certain rights back to the City of' San Francisco. The City Attorney would prefer con- <br /> tacting the City of San Francisco officials to discuss t�he matter further before accept- <br /> � ing the agreement. Councilman Royer so moved, seconded by Councilman Stout, City Attorney <br /> � to report back �vithin one week and bring in the results of the conference. <br /> LETTER FRf}M H. S. STOUT RESIGNING F�tOM PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. �ouncilman Britschgi <br /> moved aeceptance, City Clerk Dodge to write the usual letter of commendation, seconded by <br /> Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> � <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON REVISION dF SEWER RENTALS FOR SCHOOLS. City 1Vfanager Rolison explained <br /> � <br /> the proposed rates were prepared on the daily attsndar�ce of schools. The Clerk was <br /> directed to forward copies of City Engineer� s formula to the City Council and the matter <br /> was placed on the agenda for May 3rd for further action. Then it was further suggested <br /> that the achools be given an opportunitq to consider this matter. <br /> PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY REPORT COMPLETION OF MODERNIZATION QF OVERHEAD STREET LIGHTING <br /> SYSTEM. Councilman Granger was. still of the opinion that certain areas, especially E1 <br /> C amino Real from Finger Avsnue below Five Points, shoul.d be brightened up with greater <br /> capacity lights. Councilman Stout suggested the matter be referred to the committee for <br /> further study. Councilman Granger was of t he opinion that the Pacific Gas & Electric <br /> Company had never received the necessary work order to clean up E1 Camino Real. <br /> City Manager Rolison stated that the Paeific Gas & Electric Company had been authorized <br /> °'�" to go ahead on the�ir own initiative with the modernization program. Councilrr�an Granger <br /> .�,.� then moved that the Street Light Committee confer with the Cit�r Manager and report back <br /> at the maeting of May 3rd. Motion was seconded by Councilman Britschgi and earried. <br /> REQUEST TRANSFER OF �319.30 FROM POLICE MOTOR VEFiICLE TO CAPITAL OUTLAY. RESOLUTION No. 1686 <br /> was offered by Councilman Spillers who moved adop�ion, seconded by Councilman Stout and <br /> carried on roll call. Councilman Jones no ted absent. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY�S REQUEST FOR AUTHORITY TO SFCURE APPRAISERS FOR KEN3INGTON SQUARE No. 5 PROPERTY. <br /> It appears that the Kensington Square No. 5 pro�ect can not proceed until certain ease- <br /> ments have been acquired. The Real �state Cormnittee has not as yet made a recommendation <br /> on Lot l, Block 9, Kensington Square. Lot l, Block 8, came up because of the old house <br /> which would have to be moved or torn down. Councilman Spillers moved the City Attorney <br /> be authorized to hire an appraiser, seconded by Couneilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> ,,,�, RECOMMENDATTONS AND SUGGESTI�NS BY COUNCILMEMBERS AND DEPARTMENT I3EA�5. Councilrnan Spillers <br /> �� <br /> offered a suggestion that stop lights of the push-button type be installed at the Willow <br /> and El Camino Real intersection. The Traffic Study Cormnittee had discussed this matter <br /> at the last meeting and it was their opinion that improved ligY�.ting of the intersection <br /> would improve conditions in this area. It was doubtful whether or not the State would <br /> � agree to another stop light so near the Five Points signQls. The matter �ras referred <br /> � back to the Traffic F act Findin� Committee for a report within two weeks. Captain <br /> Faulstich atated that the State probably wo uld a�ree to a signal at this point if tY�e <br /> City would assume the cost of approximataly ��.,000. <br /> COUNCIL1t2AN BRITSCHGI REPORTED that the commuter parking at the Southern Pacific Depot has be- <br /> come critical.
