RESOLUTION NO. 15299 AUTHORIZING CITY TO VACATE PORTIONS OF <br /> BRADFORD STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO <br /> PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF <br /> THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> M/S Seybert/Ira to approve the staff recommendation. Motion carries 6-0 by <br /> electronic vote with Council Member Pierce absent. <br /> B. Appeal of the July 2, 2013 Planning Commission Approval of the <br /> Planned Development Permit for the 1410 Valota Road Residential <br /> Project (603) <br /> Ms. Littlefield, Associate Planner, presented the report. The appellant, Kellie Guinto, <br /> lives on Valota Road near the project site and Ms. Littlefield summarized the project and <br /> the appeal. She noted that the Planned Development Permit had lapsed in April so a <br /> new Planned Development Permit must be brought forward for construction to begin on <br /> the site. She noted the appellant's concerns and staff responses. She noted the City's <br /> outreach methods for this project. Ms. Littlefield noted that the City prepared an <br /> extensive Public Records Act Request and it has not been viewed yet by the appellant. <br /> Ms. Guinto, the appellant, spoke about the specifics of her concerns. She noted that <br /> there are several aspects of construction that will impact her and her neighbors. She <br /> noted that she has called in to complain but the issues continue to happen. She had <br /> concerns with parking, dust and overall safety. <br /> Mayor Aguirre stated that the environmental report has already been done. <br /> Ms. Guinto opined that was not sufficient in her view. <br /> Jack Chamberlain, the applicant, stated that he is doing what is possible to keep <br /> construction dust and other issues under control. <br /> A Council Member asked if Mr. Chamberlain would be willing to change the hours of <br /> construction and Mr. Chamberlain concurred. <br /> Mayor Aguirre opened the Public Hearing. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Nancy Doron, a resident on Valota Road near the project, spoke in favor of the appeal. <br /> She spoke about the traffic issues and danger at the curve of the road and on Silver. <br /> She indicated that many people in the area did not know about this meeting tonight. <br /> Barbara Stacey, a nearby resident, spoke in favor of the appeal. She spoke about how <br /> difficult it is to drive in this area particularly during rush hours.
