6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Janet Borgens said that she is speaking on behalf of the community who asked her to <br /> come forward in regards to the second fire in the city within the past four months. She <br /> expressed thanks to various staff members, including the Parks, Recreation and <br /> Community Services, Police and Fire departments for their efforts in assisting the <br /> community during and after. She said that certain residents said they missed the <br /> presence of their City Council. <br /> One Council Member noted that the Police Department and the Fire Department are <br /> more effective without the elected officials at the site. They are the first responders. Dr. <br /> Bell, said that there is a very strict chain of command and in these finro cases the EOC <br /> (Emergency Operations Center) was not activated and he clarified that City Council are <br /> asked to not to be present. Dr. Bell said that it would be helpful if there are future <br /> community meetings to please let the city and Council know so they may attend them. <br /> Ms. Borgens said that, with respect and apology, she does understand the chain of <br /> command and why it is followed. She noted that she is here (at this meeting) on behalf <br /> of others who could not be here and this message needs to come out to the community. <br /> Mike Mielke, president of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, spoke about the gtn <br /> Annual Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. He <br /> spoke about the Mayor's Cup Challenge and encouraged the City Council to participate <br /> in this event. <br /> 7. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> M/S Seybert/Gee to approve the Consent Calendar. Motion carries unanimously by <br /> electronic vote. <br /> 1. Section - Motion(s) <br /> A.
