<br /> Council requested copies of the El Camino Real Specific Plan. Council Members <br /> expressed their support for joint discussions of this issue with the Planning <br /> Commission, Architectural Review Committee and the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee. <br /> MEMO 1/15/96 <br /> Councilman Ruskin, Chair of the Council Streets Committee, expressed the Council's <br /> strong commitment to improving sidewalks, especially in the downtown area. <br /> CONSENSUS: Mayor Hartnett determined it to be the consensus of the Council to <br /> support the five basic goals for economic growth in Redwood City as listed above, and <br /> to support the following specific goals: the Historic Museum, in a manner to be <br /> determined later; improving the El Camino Real corridor; using the City/Chamber <br /> Joint Economic Development Strategies Study; and improving sidewalks, especially in <br /> the downtown area. Mayor Hartnett asked that these goals be formally communicated <br /> to staff. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 96-009 <br /> 2) Schools/EducationlChildrenIY outh <br /> Facilitator Barbour advised that in earlier discussions Council Members had <br /> expressed support for two concepts: I) the quality of schools cuts across all <br /> boundaries, and 2) Council was committed to current and new collaborations with <br /> Redwood City schools. <br /> Councilwoman La Berge announced that the Council/School Liaison Committee <br /> would bring a recommendation regarding unique partnerships between the City, <br /> County and schools to the regular Council meeting of January 22, 1996, and ask for <br /> Council support.
