(405) <br /> Mayor Hartnett announced that the public hearing on MainlMiddlefield DDA would not <br /> be conducted at the scheduled meeting, but would be continued to 7:30 p.m., Monday, <br /> February 5, 1996 immediately following the City Council meeting, Library Community <br /> Room, 1044 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 96-018 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 7. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> Announcements by Council Members <br /> A. Mayor Hartnett described the very successful grand opening of Red Morton Center on <br /> Saturday, January 20, with over 3,700 people visiting the new recreation center. <br /> B. Councilman Leipzig described pockets of County property surrounded by the City and <br /> asked staff to prepare a report on annexations and schedule the subject for a future Council <br /> meeting. <br /> '--- Councilman Leipzig asked that the Council review the whole issue of the Utilities Users <br /> Tax and whether it had a sunset clause, or whether it should be eliminated. <br /> Mayor Hartnett referred this matter to the Council Utilities Committee. <br /> MEMO 1/23/96 <br /> Councilman Leipzig advised he had visited the new Fair Oaks Library and was very <br /> impressed, stating that it was a great building and a great improvement. Councilman <br /> Leipzig noted that instructions on the entrance/exit doors were largely in Spanish and <br /> asked that the primary instructions be in English. <br /> MEMO 1/23/96 <br /> C.
