4) Installation Details <br /> a) Work Schedule <br /> i) Contractor will submit a work schedule to the Project Manager at least one week prior <br /> to the planned work start date. <br /> ii) Once the work schedule is agreed upon, any proposed changes will be immediately <br /> coordinated with the Project Manager, but not less than 24 hours in advance of the <br /> performance of work for any particular work space. Work shall not commence in any <br /> work space without prior coordination with the Project Manager. <br /> iii) During performance of work, Contractor will brief the Project Manager or other <br /> Redwood City staff(designated by the Project Manager)on the planned activities for the <br /> next day. <br /> b) Furniture Moving <br /> i) Contractor will be responsible for moving furniture and other equipment for the removal <br /> of existing carpet and the installation of new carpet tile. <br /> ii) All work space computers, phones, data lines and electrical devices shall stay intact and <br /> shall not be unplugged unless coordinated with the Project Manager. <br /> iii) The Project Manager will ensure that City employees' personal effects are boxed at each <br /> work station and/or ready to be moved prior to the start of the work shift. <br /> iv) At the end of Contractor's work shift, all furniture, equipment and boxed items shall be <br /> returned to their original locations. <br /> c) Carpet Removal <br /> i) Most of the existing carpet to be removed is currently glued down, rolled product. <br /> ii) When removing the existing cove base, Contractor will be responsible for any drywall or <br /> paint damage incurred above the top of the current cove base line. <br /> iii) At the end of the Contractors work shift each day, all removed old carpet must be <br /> removed from the building and disposed of by the Contractor. <br /> d) Floor Preparation <br /> i) Contractor shall prep the floor, to include leveling if required, in accordance with <br /> manufacturer's specifications prior to installing new carpet. <br /> e) Differing Subsurface Conditions <br /> i) If Contractor believes that any subsurface condition that is uncovered is of such nature <br /> as to require a change in the scope of services or is of unusual nature, and differs <br /> materially from condition� ordinarily encountered and generally recognized as inherent <br /> in work of the character provided for in floor prep, then Contractor shall immediately <br /> notify the Project Manager in writing about such condition. Contractor shall not perform <br /> any work in connection therewith until receipt of written order to do so. <br /> ii) After receipt of written notice, the Project Manager will promptly review the pertinent <br /> condition, and advise Contractor in writing of City's findings and conclusions. <br /> f) New Carpet and Cove Base <br /> i) Contractor shall furnish and install needed carpet, cove base and ancillary materials <br /> needed for the performance of the defined work. <br /> PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION 10 <br /> Carpet Replacement—Fair Oaks Community Center(FOCC) <br /> ATTY/AGR/2014.068/H.V.WELKER CO.
