ATTACHMFNT I <br /> 7.1.A. - Page 16 <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> CHIEF OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (COA) <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> 14.18.1 An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period and subsequently <br /> becomes ill before his/her vacation period has been completed shall be placed on <br /> [ illness sick leave under the following conditions: <br /> 14.18.1.1 The employee otherwise has the requisite amount of accrued, <br /> unused sick leave and otherwise qualifies for illness sick leave as <br /> provided by this Agreement; and, <br /> 14.18.1.2 The employee, if no longer ill, returns to duty immediately <br /> [ following the vacation period; and, vacation period; and, <br /> 14.18.1.3 The employee's illness is verified by a statement from an <br /> [ accredited medical doctor for each such day of illness--sick leave <br /> requested. <br /> 14.18.2 When the employee's vacation leave is converted to illness sick leave, the <br /> appropriate credit of vacation credit leave shall be restored to the employee's <br /> earned vacation balance, and a reasonable opportunity to utilize this vacation <br /> leave credit shall be provided within the city's existing practices in order to avoid <br /> loss of vacation efedit. <br /> 14.19 Recognized Holidays <br /> 14.19.1 The following are the recognized holidays for employees in the following <br /> classifications: <br /> - Forty (40) hour Battalion Chiefs <br /> - Deputy Fire Chief <br /> [ -Administrative Chief/Fire Marshal <br /> New Year's Day <br /> Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in January) <br /> Washington's BirthdayPresidents' Day (observed on the third Monday in <br /> February) <br /> Memorial Day (observed on the last Monday in May) <br /> Independence Day <br /> Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br /> Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br /> Thanksgiving Day <br /> The Day After Thanksgiving <br /> Christmas Eve <br /> Christmas Day <br /> New Year's Eve <br /> Page 12 of 22 <br />
