TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ATTACHMENT 2 <br /> 7.1.A. - Page 43 REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> REDWOOD CITY MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION <br /> RE: MOU CHANGES <br /> Veterans Day(observed November 11) <br /> Thanksgiving Day <br /> The Day After Thanksgiving <br /> Christmas Eve <br /> Christmas Day <br /> New Year's Eve <br /> 16.20 Weekend Holidays <br /> When any of the above holidays listed in section 16,19.1 fall on Sunday, the following Monday shall be <br /> considered the holiday. When any of the above holidays fall on Saturday, the proceeding Friday shall be <br /> considered the holiday. <br /> 16.21 Work on a Holiday: <br /> A management unit member who is required to work on any of the holidays listed in Article 16.19.1 above <br /> shall receive instead a paid day off on the work day either preceding or following the holiday as determined <br /> by the department head, or shall receive up to eight(8) hours of Non-Accrued Vacation Leave(NAVL). <br /> Article 17: Hours Of Work <br /> I The regular workweek for employees assigned to full time status shall be forty(40) hours per week. <br /> Article 18: Leave Provisions <br /> 18.1 Sick Leave <br /> 18.1.1 Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all regular full-time employees, except as hereinafter <br /> provided, at the rate of one (1) working day for each full calendar month of service from the <br /> commencement of their employment with the City. <br /> Pursuant to Article 18.9, a qualifyinge employee may also request family and medical leave if <br /> he/she is unable to perform his/her job because of a serious health condition, or needs to care <br /> for a child, following birth or placement, or needs to care for a spouse, domestic partner, child or <br /> parent who is seriously ill. Leave shall be in accordance with the City's Family Medical Leave Act <br /> Policy, <br /> 18.1.4 In the event an employee has accumulated the maximum sick leave credits of one-thousand two- <br /> hundred (1200) hours and the employee becomes so severely ill that he or she exhausts his/her <br /> sick leave, the Human Resources DirectorPersonnel Officer may, upon the written <br /> recommendation from the employee's department head, authorize additional sick leave to <br /> include any sick leave in excess of the one-thousand two-hundred (1200) hours maximum which <br /> may have been lost due to the maximum limitation; provided, however, that sick leave credits <br /> were not accumulated for a period of six(6) months or longer. <br /> 18.1.8 If an employee's illness or the illness of a family member results in an absence from work for <br /> three (3) or more days, a doctor's certificate or other reasonable proof of illness may be required <br /> by the City. <br /> Page 17 of 17 <br />
